Scheme fees

Scheme fees are charges paid to the card network itself — eftpos, Mastercard or Visa — for using its rails. Scheme fees are set by the card networks and are charged in addition to interchange. They are a smaller component of merchant cost than interchange, but they apply to every transaction.
