Statement Upload: Consent & Privacy Notice
Effective 18 August 2026. This notice is specific to a merchant statement you upload. It works alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, and where it differs from either of them on how an uploaded statement is handled, this notice applies.
Who we are
Compayr, a registered business name of Neural Pathways Pty Ltd, ABN 99 684 738 289 (compayr.com.au), collects and handles this information. Questions or requests: privacy@compayr.com.au. Our full Privacy Policy is at compayr.com.au/privacy.
What we collect
The statement file you upload and the information in it — typically your business name, ABN, current provider, transaction volumes, effective rates and fees. For sole traders this may include personal information. We do not need, and ask you not to upload, full card numbers, bank account or settlement account details, bank login details or unrelated personal data. Please redact anything beyond the fee, volume and provider lines.
Information about other people in your statement
A merchant statement may contain information about someone other than you — for example a co-owner, an authorised contact or a staff member. If you provide us with information about another person, please make sure you are authorised to do so and that they are aware of this notice. Anything beyond the fee, volume and provider lines can be redacted before you upload.
Why we collect it
To calculate your card processing costs and produce your comparison. We read your statement — by manual review and/or automated extraction (including OCR) — only for that purpose. That is the only thing we use your statement for, unless you later ask us to do something further.
Our comparison ranks providers on the cost of card acceptance: transaction pricing and recurring account fees. It does not rank on equipment such as terminals, POS hardware or software, which we show separately. Our published methodology at compayr.com.au/how-we-compare sets out the scope in full.
Where it is stored and how we protect it
Your statement is encrypted in transit and at rest, with access limited to authorised personnel. Your statement is stored and processed in Australia. We do not disclose it overseas.
How long we keep it
We delete the statement file within 30 days of upload, or earlier if you ask us to. The figures we extracted from it to build your comparison — your turnover, rates and fee lines — may be kept as part of your enquiry record under our Privacy Policy; they are figures, not a copy of your statement. You can ask us to delete those too.
Your rights
You can ask to access or correct your information, withdraw your consent, or have your statement deleted at any time — contact privacy@compayr.com.au. Withdrawing consent may mean we cannot complete your comparison. We will respond within a reasonable period.
Complaints
If you have a concern, contact our Privacy Officer at privacy@compayr.com.au. We will acknowledge your complaint within 7 days and aim to resolve it within 30 days; if it is complex and will take longer, we will tell you. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au, by phone on 1300 363 992, or by post to GPO Box 5288, Sydney NSW 2001.
A note on our figures
Compayr provides general, factual comparison information — not financial product advice. Figures are indicative estimates; always verify with the provider. We do not need an Australian Financial Services Licence for the service described in this notice. We do not deal in, issue, or arrange for you to acquire, any financial product.
